President Message

Hi Ladies,
The month of June brings summer vacation, tan lines, and my last President's Letter!
One of the current Board's last adventures was to attend the storied MOMS Club Founders Day Luncheon in Long Beach on May 18th.  What on earth is that you might be wondering? Think MOMS Club prom!  Hundreds of ladies, no, thousands, from all over Southern California, get together to celebrate their chapter's activities and all the good things this organization has brought into their lives.  The theme was "Rolling out the Red Carpet on Motherhood", and these ladies dressed the part!  We were severely underdressed, but they still let us in so we were off to a good start.
Over the course of the day I learned a few new things about the MOMS Club: There are over 75,000 members worldwide.  Just the U.S. has over 1500 chapters.  That's a lot!
Some chapters are HUGE!  Westchester has over 175 members.
Some chapters are really energetic!  One entire table was filled with ladies dressed as Audrey Hepburn, to the nines.
MOMS Club people put together some AWESOME raffle baskets.  I'm talking plane tickets, diamonds, piles of cash, cases of wine, really good stuff!  Some ladies came prepared with tiny pre- printed name and address labels so they could fill out more raffle tickets in a shorter period of time.   That'll be me next year.  The proceeds benefit the MOMS Club Mother To Mother Fund which offers financial assistance to MOMS Club members anywhere who are experiencing unusual hardships.
It was great to feel so much energy, friendship and gratitude in one giant room.   So, here's to a new year, a new Board of Directors, and another year of making connections through the MOMS Club.  The June General Meeting will be at Highridge Park at 10:00 a.m.  The new board of directors will be voted in at that meeting and our MOMS Club  Chapter will be off and running for another year!
Thank you for all your volunteer hours, your advice and encouragement this  past year.   I really enjoyed being at the center of all this!
Sincerely,
Christine
