In honoring Mary B. James and her vision, I started to think about my own reasons for joining MOMS Club . . .like Mary, I chose to stay-at-home with Lindsey. This choice has been very rewarding, but is not without its challenges and loneliness. Whether you're a stay-at-home MOM or a working MOM you need a outlet. When I first joined MOMS Club, I just wanted a playgroup for Lindsey to interact with other babies her age, but as I've become more involved, I realized what I got was so much more. We are an organization of volunteers, it's important to recognize the efforts of all the MOMS that I have the privilege of working with on a monthly basis to make this club run smoothly.

If you're interested in volunteering, we have many opportunities to get involved, either as Board members, Coordinators or chairing something on a onetime basis. We have open positions that are posted monthly in our newsletter; if you're interested, let me know. It's a great way to give back to your club and it doesn't have to be a major time commitment, many positions can be shared with other MOMS too.

Don't forget our General Meeting this month will feature Scott Gale, author of "Your Family Constitution: A Modern Approach to Family Values and Household Structure". Mr. Gale will discuss with us his unique parenting tools that will help families to work through chaos and learn to implement healthy structure within our homes.

Also, join us for our fun field trip to Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour and come to our Valentine's Day Cookie Decorating Party at Elaine's home.
